Such a Perfect Wife, Coming May 7 – Blonde. Beautiful. A loving mother.
 And missing since Monday.
On a sunny morning in late September, Shannon Blaine, a thirty-four year old wife and mother of two, set off for a jog along the roads near her home in Lake George, New York. It was her usual routine after dropping the kids off at school…except on this day she never returned. Is her husband lying when he says he has no idea where she is? Could Shannon have split on her own, overwhelmed by the pressures of life? Or is she the victim of a sexual predator?
True crime writer Bailey Weggins heads north from New York City to report on the mysterious disappearance for the website Crime Beat. An anonymous tip soon leads her to a grisly discovery. Every town has its secrets, Bailey reminds herself, and nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. She keeps digging for answers until she unearths the stunning and chilling truth.
“Mystery fans’ apprehension will skyrocket as the compelling plot, with multiple suspects, thunders to a conclusion…One of the stronger entries in an always-entertaining series.” —Booklist

What I’m Reading/Watching

[cover: Michaelides] [cover: Netflix]
The Hunting Party
by Lucy Foley

In this debut crime novel, a group of thirty-somethings who knew each other in college reconnect by spending New Year’s Eve together on a remote estate in Scotland. They find themselves trapped in a blizzard and even worse, someone ends up murdered. Edgy and riveting.
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
Netflix

This eight-part series is heart wrenching and offers no real new information, but for me it was intriguing to review certain facts about the case, which I’d forgotten in the past ten years. Warning: You’ll have a hard time falling asleep after watching each episode.

What I’m Cooking

I adore the three months I spend in Uruguay each winter (their summer), but there are certain foods you just can’t get there—like buffalo mozzarella, feta cheese, artichokes, and romaine lettuce. So when we return, I usually binge BIG-TIME on those items. This past weekend I served buffalo mozzarella with roasted peppers since tomatoes aren’t in season. And I steamed artichokes and served them with my favorite vinaigrette for that purpose from the great Silver Palette Cookbook.
